“Under Wraps”

Summer 2023

This piece invites viewers to contribute a secret to a portable room which can hold only one person. Secrets are typed on a vintage typewriter before being strung and tied to a collective web behind a green door. Standing inside, you are immersed in the whispers of souls bared and unburdened.

Immediately upon opening the sculpture to viewer participation, we recognized a recurring thread of emotional unrest and in some cases, danger.

While there is comfort in knowing you are not alone in your pain, we know from deep experience there is also a way to escape from it. Depression lies, hopelessness eases, joy returns. But sometimes we need professional help to find the path leading out of the dark forest.

We invite you to use the resources below to find your peace, ease your pain, and begin your new life today.

In honor and loving memory of Kirsten’s brother George.

Online Therapy

There are many options such as Better Health and Regain.

We recommend Open Path Collective. There’s a 1-time fee to join the network, then you receive access to therapists who offer sliding scale payments for services. Rather than a subscription service, you work directly with the therapists in the network. No insurance is involved. We do not get any benefit for referring you here, other than knowing it’s good from personal experience :)
